DGPT ACQUIRES JOMEZPRO

The Disc Golf Pro Tour announced today its acquisition of JomezPro. The DGPT and JomezPro have been in collaboration since 2017 but have officially taken the next step in their partnership.

The DGPT CEO, Jeff Spring, and JomezPro founder and CEO, Jonathan Gomez were on the podcast The Upshot to discuss the recent acquisition and all its details.

What does this mean?

JomezPro will continue to provide free post-production coverage of DGPT Elite, Elite+, playoff events, and most PDGA Majors. The partnership basically gives JomezPro the freedom to lead its brand creatively while the DGPT oversees admin operations and business development.

Discussion of the acquisition has been in discussion for the better part of a year. JomezPro’s new FPO lead card coverage for the 2023 season was another step toward the partnership.

Our renewed investment in JomezPro continues our goal of reaching new audiences and provides direct support for future content development. We’re excited to collaborate and utilize DGPT resources to foster continued innovation, and we’re thrilled to work hand in hand with Jonathan and the JomezPro team.

Jeff Spring | DGPT CEO and Tour Director

The DGPT and JomezPro both see this as a mutually beneficial partnership. JomezPro can focus on its strengths and increase its content with the help of the DGPT infrastructure. Meanwhile, Disc Golf Network, the live production of the DGPT, can improve and elevate its coverage with the help of the JomezPro team.

The DGPT released a Q&A article further detailing what this milestone means for JomezPro, the DGPT, and ultimately the future of professional disc golf.

Jonathan Gomez released his own letter “To Our Loyal Subscribers” sharing the exciting news and what the new partnership means for its Patreon members.

JONESBORO OPEN RECAP

Calvin Heimburg continued his dominating season by becoming the 3x Jonesboro champion. This was also his second Elite Series and third DGPT win this year.

Kat Mertsch faced off against Hailey King in a one-hole playoff to win the first Elite Series tournament of her career. After a bad second shot that left Hailey with a long par save that she ultimately missed, Kat was free to lay up and tap in the par for the win.

🔥 Perhaps the craziest thing from the tournament was the seventeen under par, 1101-rated round two by James Conrad. He was tied for 24th place after round one but climbed all the way to 3rd place after securing fifteen birdies and one eagle in his second round.

🥏 Check out the Top 5 best shots from the MPO and FPO divisions.
