PDGA CHAMPIONS CUP
The PDGA Champions Cup is the first of five Majors for the 2023 season. It is a four-day tournament held at W.R. Jackson at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia.
Round One
Seeing the top MPO and FPO players tee off on the famous W.R. Jackson course yesterday was a welcome sight. The W.R. Jackson course is one of three championship caliber courses housed at the IDGC in Appling, GA. The MPO course is a par 66 boasting 10,392 total feet. While the FPO course is a par 67 at 9,047 total feet.
🔥 Isaac Robinson (-11) - Isaac led the way in round one with a 1068-rated round. A solid round but still five strokes behind the course record of -16 set by Paul McBeth last year. James Conrad is a close second behind Isaac at ten under par after round one.
🔥 Kristin Tatter (-9) - Kristin topped the FPO field with a 1025-rated round. She has given herself a two-stroke lead over Kat Mertsch heading into round two. Which, is not unfamiliar territory for Kristin.
Kristin Tattar goes -9 after Rd 1 at #ChampionsCup, tying her best score to par on the season, good for a 2-stroke lead.

Daily live coverage of the event is exclusively on the Disc Golf Network. FPO at 9:30 am EDT and MPO at 3:00 pm EDT.
👀 What we’re watching
We were going to be watching Ricky Wysocki compete in his fourth event of the year, but we will have to wait on that. He announced yesterday that he had to drop out of the tournament due to the Lyme disease he’s been battling. After a shaky start to the season which includes missing tournaments and a DNF, he pulled together back-to-back top-ten finishes in the last two DPGT events. Ricky is a 6x Major Champion but has not seen 1st place at one since 2017.
After a solid round one, and a great start to the season so far, Kristin Tattar has our attention yet again. The 2x Major Champion is looking for her first Champions Cup title.
Calvin Heimburg has eight DGPT wins under his belt but is still searching for the elusive Major title. Will this be the weekend?
Who has seventeen Major event wins that also includes the 2022 PDGA Champions Cup? Paige Pierce. She had a tough first round, finishing +4, but Paige is always in the hunt and will look to have a solid round two and get herself into a good position for the final two rounds of the event.
