In other news...
We are less than one month (30 days) away from the Las Vegas Challenge. The first DGPT event of the year.
BULLSEYE
The Disc Golf Network announced its plan to live broadcast seven PDGA Euro Tour events. In addition to this, six of the events will also award points used toward the 2023 DGPT Championship.
Excluding the Tour Championship, all six events will award players 50% DGPT points, the same as Silver Events. In addition to the other nine Silver Events (fifteen total), players will only earn points based on their best three finishes combined.
The announcement comes just weeks before the first DGPT event and less than a month since Paul McBeth announced his 2023 tour schedule, which includes his attendance at four of the six events now eligible for DGPT points.
The late notice announcement of the DGPT to award points for these events, compounded with the recent report of the 2024 World Championship, has some putting down their discs and picking up their tin foil hats.

To recap, the PDGA announced which bids were awarded 2024 PDGA Majors last month.
The 2024 PDGA World Championship was awarded to Nate Heinold and his Ledgestone DG event team and is set to be held in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Many felt that something seemed wrong about the president of the PDGA being awarded a PDGA Major, especially since there were reports of a solid European bid that could have handled the event.
Aside from that, Paul McBeth designed one of the two courses for the 2024 Worlds and provided feedback for the other.
Now the DGPT is announcing points will be awarded for six of the Euro Tour events. Those on the conspiracy train feel this is more of a DGPT problem, choosing to follow Paul around to keep him on DGN coverage.
Paul will miss four Elite Series events while in Europe competing in what are ultimately only Silver Series events. So Paul likely didn't make his choice because of DGPT points if he did somehow know ahead of time.
Aside from Paul, other pros commented that they did not know the DGPT was planning to award points for these events, and some feel slighted. However, there are five months between now and then if players' schedules need to shift.
From a brighter perspective, the sports growth and more professional coverage of events across the ocean is a positive outlook for disc golf.

To obtain relief, the player may mark a new lie that is on the line of play, farther from the target, at the nearest point that provides relief (unless greater relief is announced by the Director).
🧠Answer: Paul McBeth had an average rating over 1072 at the European Open and still lost to Eagle McMahon
