👁️ KCWO PREVIEW
The sixth Disc Golf Pro Tour Silver event is underway in Missouri at the Kansas City Wide Open.
This will be the 41st year of the KCWO, but the first as a DGPT event. It has been on the PDGA tour since year one and 90% of the PDGA world champions have won this event.

DGPT
📺 How to watch
First-round live coverage is available on the DGPT YouTube channel.

DGPT
🏆 Past KCWO Champions
2022 - Andrew Marwede (-25) / Ellen Widboom (+7)
2021 - Gannon Buhr (-20) / Nova Politte (+19)
2020 - Peter Bures (-3) / Nova Politte (+11)
2019 - Paul McBeth (-32) / Missy Gannon (+14)
👀 What we’re watching
Most of the top pros are skipping out on this event as they gear up to head over to Europe for the upcoming PCS and European Open tournaments. However, young guns Gannon Buhr and Cole Redalen will stay in the States and not make the trip to compete overseas. Gannon already has one DGPT Silver event win this year and is looking for his second. Cole has yet to get a win in 2023 but has secured multiple DGPT podiums this year.
On the FPO side, Holyn Handley is one of the few top female athletes sticking around to compete in the Silver event. Holyn has three podiums in her last five DGPT events and is set up well to capitalize on the thin FPO field this weekend.

🏆 TOURNAMENT RECAPS
The Preserve Championship

The raptor legs were out and about at The Preserve this past weekend as Ricky Wysocki secured his first DGPT Elite Series win of the 2023 season. He led the MPO field from the start after shooting a -15, 1082-rated round one. Cole Redalen matched Ricky’s -15 under in the third round, tieing for second place with Calvin Heimburg.
Like Ricky, Catrina Allen was on top in the FPO division from start to finish. She started the tournament by setting a 1032-rated round-one course record. Picking up her first tour podium since 2021, Rebecca Cox tied Kristin Tattar for second place.

The Prodigy baskets were not playing nice with the Prodigy-sponsored players. Isaac Robinson had a couple of bad spit-outs while Gannon Buhr had a similar struggle on hole 18.
On a brighter note, there were quite a few epic highlights from the tournament including an ace from Kat Mertsch in round one. Check out highlights from the MPO field here.
Swedish Open

Paul McBeth picked up his second Euro Tour win this year. He has two more Euro Tour events before moving on to the PDGA European Open in mid-July.
Going back-to-back, Silva Saarinen now has two Euro Tour wins in a row and looks to make it three with the Skelleftea Open this weekend.
PDGA Amateur and Junior World Championships
After grinding through difficult weather conditions, the 800+ players competing in the Amateur and Junior World Championships concluded play on Sunday just in time to enjoy July 4th festivities.
