🌎 DISC vs MOTHER NATURE

The PDGA Amatuer and Junior Wolrld Championships continue today after battling poor air quality and thunderstorms throughout the first two rounds. The air was so bad, Wednesday’s rounds had to be cancelled and pushed to Thursday only to be hit with severe thunderstorms causing even more delays.

With the third day of the tournaments underway, it seems the air is clearing up, with the worst of weather to have pushed further East.

The third round is scheduled to be in the books today with round four kicking off tomorrow.

👁️ THE PRESERVE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Disc Golf Pro Tour returns to Clearwater, Minnesota for the fourth time. The Preserve Championship is hosted at The Airborn Disc Golf Preserve, the elite caliber course founded and designed by disc golf pro, Cale Leviska.

Cale Leviska has been a professional disc golfer since 2004 and his career includes over 150 wins, multiple top-5 finishes at world championships, and $300k+ in prize earnings. The Airborn Preserve is the culmination of his nearly 20 years of disc golf experience.

2022 DMC Recap

In 2022, we saw Bradley Williams take down is second tour win ever and his first since the Vibram Open in 2016. He was able to stay ahead of the 2021 champion, Ricky Wysocki, by two strokes.

Paige Pierce dominated the FPO division last year, winning at The Preserve Championship by five-strokes to become a 2x winner of the event.

👀 What we’re watching

• Isaac Robinson is in our sights this weekend. He has one Major win and three DGPT Elite Series podiums so far this year. He’s coming hot off second place at DMC just five days ago.

• With four podium finishes and seven other top-10 finishes at DGPT events so far this year, Missy Gannon has yet to reach the top spot come weekends end. We’ll see if this four time DGPT champion can add a fifth to her record

• Natalie Ryan will be competing in the FPO division this weekend following a granted temporary restraining order against the PDGA and the DGPT by the Minnesota State Court. This is the second time this year Natalie has been allowed to compete in the FPO division at a Elite event due to court order. The first was back in May at the OTB Open, where Natalie was able to compete for one round before an appeal was made by the DGPT, restoring their ability to enforce its Gender Eligibilty Policy.
